Burj Dubai

From the beginning of the 20th century, countries started demonstrating pride about their tallest buildings. Height record braking skyscrapers have been seen as the most astounding products of engineering.

This year, the world’s future tallest skyscraper, called “Burj Dubai”, will be finished in the city of Dubai. The project was started in the year 2004 by the architect Adrian Smith. Among the greatest and most famous of his works of architecture are the “Trump Tower” in New York, U.S. and the “Jin Mao Tower” in Shanghai, China. This new skyscraper currently under construction in Dubai will have an altitude of 818 meters, about 300 meters taller than the previously tallest building which is the “Taipei 101” in Taipei, Taiwan. The “Burj Dubai” has a total cost of $4.1 billion. At the beginning the building was going to be less than 100 meters the actual predestined height. However new designs have convinced the architects and engineers to make it higher.

Inside the building there will be 56 elevators, most which will be double deck.  The lobby will contain 196 bronze and brass alloy works of art representing the 196 countries of the world. Starting from the 45th up to the 108th floor, there will be only apartments. For these apartments there will be a swimming pool on the 78th floor. From the 109th floor up to the 162nd floor there will be only corporate offices and suites except for the 124th floors which will have an observation deck.

This new world’s highest skyscraper will attract much more tourists to the city of Dubai. Currently there is no other building being planned that will exceed this height. So the “Burj Dubai” will definitely be the most amazing work of engineering out there for a long time.
